Welcome to Desert Ridge Parents' Group!

Organized in 1997, the not-for-profit Desert Ridge® Parents' Group (DRPG) works to foster a sense of community, develop long-lasting relationships and create a support network among the families of Desert Ridge® and the surrounding areas (including but not limited to 85050 and 85054).  Through a variety of playgroups, family events and fun activities, the DRPG can enhance the lives of all Desert Ridge® parents, whether working as full-time parents or employed outside the home, married or single, one child or several.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION:  DRPG publishes a bimonthly online newsletter which includes our schedule for Kids Activities, Family Events and Parents Nights Out, plus great community updates. Our online community is hosted by Big Tent, with discussion forums, news announcements, classified ads, event calendars and invitations and more!

FOR KIDS: Organized playgroups are where DRPG members meet weekly for kid play and mom bonding. In addition to playgroups, we have many daytime activities each month including craft projects, story times, trips to the Zoo, picnics and park days, as well as neighborhood tours of the fire station, grocery store and a pizzeria! 

FOR FAMILIES:  We also have many great family events which are held on the weekends: Bike Rodeo, Wildlife in the Wash, Spring Fling, Mothers Day and Fathers Day Crafts, Fall Festival, Winter Celebration & Chili Cook Off.  

FOR ADULTS: We offer Parent's Nights Out which are a kid-free chance to get to know other parents in Desert Ridge. Includes Moms nights out, Dads nights out and also outings for all the parents together; singles or couples are welcome.

MEMBERSHIP: Memberships are $30 annually and most club events and activities are free for DRPG members.  For more information on what is included in a DRPG membership, please visit our Member Benefits page. For questions about membership, please contact us.

Why: Kids need it, your kids need to see you giving, and it will make you feel good.

Free Mommy's Body Back Preview Class
Who: Stroller Strides

What: Our member Suzy is doing a FREE workout for the Mom's. What is Body Back? It is a results based workout program for moms of any age. Inspired by the 'Mama Wants Her Body Back' video series, it offers high intensity, interval workouts along with before and after fitness assessments, a diet program, online coaching and support in a motivating and inspirational program. You will see anything is possible!

Story Time at Tikes and Tales - just for DRPG

Heard Museum Free Event
When: Saturday, July 24th, 10:30am
Where: 2301 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, Arizona 85004 On Central Avenue between McDowell and Thomas roads at Encanto Blvd
What: Families can catch the Arctic chill in the museum's exhibition Arctic Spirit: Inuit Art from the Albrecht Collection, and kids can make a variety of "cool" artwork of their own. There's also a fun Arctic area in the exhibition Every Picture Tells a Story full of hands-on in-gallery activities. Hands-on Activities10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Make cowrie shell necklaces, paint polar bear pins, decorate your own fan with stickers, paint wind chimes and scratch a pinwheel. Performances at 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m. Yellow Bird Dancers. Book Signing and Official Release of the New Young Adult Book American Indian Story
Cost: Free!! Bring a little extra money for lunch in the café...they will be offering special prices that day.

Pump It Up!: Private Party for DRPG
When: Thursday, July 29, 11:30-12:30

What: Wear the kids out with several gigantic inflatable slides, bounce houses, and obstacle courses. Socks required!
Cost: We need at least 20 children to participate at $5 per kid, but the more children the less it will cost, so invite friends along and the price will go down!

Imagination Ave
When: Tuesday, August 3rd, 10am

What: Indoor play area resembling a fun child size town! Socks are required for both parents and children. This is not a drop off--parents must be responsible for their own children.
Cost: DRPG gets a special group discount for $6 per child and $5 for additional siblings!
