The Desert Ridge Parents' Group (DRPG) strives to offer a wide range of activities to meet the needs of our member families. Membership dues are $30 annually.

Playgroups: DRPG offers organized playgroups where members meet weekly for kid play and mom bonding.  Playgroups are held weekly at area parks, member's homes, the Desert Ridge Marketplace, wherever!  There are always extra arms to hold babies, wipe noses, change diapers or corral kids.  Presently, all of our playgroups are accepting new members. For more information about existing playgroups, schedules and age ranges, please contact us.

Kids Activities:  Several times each month, DRPG schedules weekday children's activities.  Past activities have included seasonal craft projects, circulator rides to Desert Ridge Marketplace, story times, trips to the Zoo, picnics and park days, as well as neighborhood tours of the fire station, grocery store and a pizzeria! 

Family Events:  Special organized weekend events for the whole family including a Bike Rodeo, Wildlife in the Wash, Spring Fling, Mother's Day and Father's Day Crafts, Fall Festival, Winter Celebration/Chili Cook Off, and New Member Brunches.  Bring all of your kids because there is usually park play and sand involved.  Snacks are provided, group activities are organized, and the kids make seasonal crafts.  DRPG offers these great events and activities to our members with no fee.

Mom's Nights Out: Dine at an area restaurant, watch a chick flick, get pedicures or enjoy another fun weekday evening activity with other Moms from Desert Ridge.  Held bi-monthly. Share funny stories, get advice, or just enjoy the company of other moms.

Dad's Nights Out:  Dads in Desert Ridge get their own evening away from the family to do the male bonding thing. Held bi-monthly.  Past activities have included happy hours, spring training games, go-kart racing, action movies, and carnivore dinners.

Parent's Nights Out: A kid-free chance to get to know other parents in Desert Ridge.  Held bi-monthly, usually on a weekend evening.  Past activities include new member socials, casual dinners out, movies, miniature golf, music festivals and an annual Holiday Party.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION:  DRPG publishes a bimonthly online newsletter including our schedule for Kids Activities, Family Events and Parents Nights Out, plus great community updates, special offers for DRPG members, birth announcements and birthdays.

Online Community:
DRPG has an active online community hosted by Big Tent. You will find discussion forums, the activities calendar and event invitations, news announcements, a classified ads section, and so much more. Big Tent also handles our membership enrollment, and you can pay your membership dues online using PayPal or a credit card (personal checks are also accepted).

Hospitality:
A special program for families who need a little extra support, including meals after the arrival of a new baby or after a surgery or loss.

Members Meetings:
All members are invited to lend their creative input in planning future club activities. Held the about 5 times each year, in the evening.  A great time to catch up on the latest DRPG doings, have snacks and drinks and enjoy some conversation before the meeting starts.  We often think of these as another Mom's Night Out!

How Do I Join DRPG?

We are so pleased you have decided to join DRPG. Our General Membership dues are $30 a year, renewable twelve months from when you join. Dues may be paid by check, or securely online with a credit card or PayPal.

New memberships are processed through our secure Big Tent site.  Please complete the short form below to receive an emailed invitation to join from Big Tent/DRPG. For the security of our members we must pre-approve all new enrollees, so there may be a short delay in gaining access to our Big Tent online community while we process your application.  We look forward to meeting you soon!
